June 2023 Grant Recipient - Allison, Age 38

AAF made a grant to Allison to assist with child care and counseling for her two daughters as she is a single mom. Allison states "I am hoping to inspire woman to advocate for health, as well as be a voice for insurance policies to change so that women under 40 have mammograms and and annual wellness visit as a preventative." to assist with her medical bills and rent." 

March 2023 Grant Recipient - Ishmila, Age 35

AAF made a grant to Ishmila to assist with her medical bills and rent. Ishmila hopes the assistance helps her as she starts her own cleaning business with the hopes "to dedicate a portion of my profit to organizations like AAF." 

December 2022 Grant Recipient - Ameena, Age 46

AAF made a grant to Ameena to assist with her to fulfill a dream trip to Cameroon. children and other financial needs.  Ameena says "Everyday, I choose to live as full as I possibly can, but it is not easy."

June 2022 Grant Recipient - Kierra, Age 30

AAF made a grant to Keirra to assist with childcare for her 2 small children.  "I want to be able to play with my boys and I am so pround of them. I want to give them all of my time and love while I can."




June 2022 Grant Recipient - Lauren, Age 39

AAF made a grant to Lauren to assist with her children and other financial needs.  Lauren says "Honestly, it has taken me some time to realize that this was going to be apart of my life, that I will have to overcome the fear of cancer being here."

March 2022 Grant Recipient - Latorcha, Age 45

AAF made a grant to Latorcha for a memorable vacation to Las Vegas, furniture and a TV. Latorcha says "I have never been to Las Vegas and I need to have a blessed moment I'll never forget. Thank you so much and God bless."

December 2021 Grant Recipient - Emelyn, Age 39

AAF made a grant to Emelyn for a family trip with her children. Emelyn says "I would love to take them to the Dallas World Aquarium and Six Flags Over Texas and give them some happy memories. I'm so excited and thankful. Thank you so much!"

September 2021 Grant Recipient - Rosa, Age 43

AAF made a grant to Rosa for assistance with some of her financial burdens including rent and clothes to help her raise her children. Rosa says "I feel truly blessed to receive your grant. When finding out I had cancer I felt hopeless and worried about my daughter's future. I am in a better place now."

August 2021 Grant Recipient - Esther, Age 48

AAF made a grant to Esther for assistance with some of her financial burdens including her daughters school and assisting her to accomplish her biggest dream of a healing journey to Malawi.  Esther says "Wow. I am beyond grateful.  This will help my family including taking care of a child with disability and praying for the child. Also will allow me to take one day at a time with a very positive attitude that everything will work out for good."

July 2021 Grant Recipient - Wenjie, Age 46

AAF made a grant to Wenjie for a family trip to visit with her grandmother and a trip to Catalina Island.  Wenjie says "My deep gratitude to you for having approved this grant to me.  It means a lot to me.  It came in such a good timing as I just returned home from a surgery. Like Angela, I accept the fact that there is no cure for Stage IV metastases, yet, I am hopeful it is treatable. The first time around, with the initial diagnosis of 2011, my motto was to fight to “beat” breast cancer. Since I’ve learned my recurrence and Stage IV metastases, I’ve changed my motto to fight to “make peace with” breast cancer." 

May 2020 Grant Recipient - Nidia, Age 40


AAF made a grant to Nidia for a family trip to Disneyland with her 3 kids of under the age of 7.  Nidia says "we have been cooped up at home since March and so bummed about not being able to do anything (we know is for own good but tell that to a 15 month old and 5 and 7yr old).  This is something we can look forward too. God bless you for the work you do to give a family a little bit of joy in the middle of difficult moments."

March 2020 Grant Recipient - Jonasia, Age 36

AAF made a grant to Jonaisa for assistance with her medical bills and everyday expenses. Jonasia says, "Hi, I would like to thank you for your kindness and financial funding during my time of need. I really appreciate it, be blessed!"


November  2019 Grant Recipient - Enedelia, Age 32

AAF made a grant to Enedelia for her to move from Texas to North Carolina to be closer to the UNC Cancer Center.  Enedelia says " I want to say thank you so much to everyone involved in helping me and helping everyone in need. You can't imagine how happy i was to receive this email from you, it is a really big help for my kids and i in the situation we are currently going thru. "


February 2019 Silver Lining Recipient

Maria is the Angela Andrade Foundation Silver Lining Recipient for February 2019. AAF's grant will assist Maria wto go to Universal Studios with her family.  Maria states "just please let Angela Andrade Foundation know that this is just awesome what they doing !! Everyone that gets diagnosed go through sooo much!! A lot of changes in life .. either make you or brake you !! "

April 2017 Silver Lining Recipient 

Lisa E is the Angela Andrade Foundation Silver Lining Recipients for April 2017. AAF assisted for the opportunity for Lisa's daughter and family can take a trip of a lifetime on a Carnival Cruise after her daughter's high school graduation.   Lisa wrote "I never knew if I would be able to see either one of my children graduate from high school. And she is my oldest. I want my daughter and family to have a once in a lifetime experience in Puerto Rico & the Virgin Islands.Lisa passed away April 2017.

March 2017 Silver Lining Recipient 

Lori B is the Angela Andrade Foundation Silver Lining Recipients for March 2017. AAF will be assisting Lori B and her family with financial assistance and the opportunity to take a vacation with her 3 children.  Lori wrote "The fear of the unknown is what I have struggled with the most.. I was terrified of going through chemo... I've been divorced for 25 years and I am all my kids have as a parent.  The thought of not winning this battle with cancer just breaks my heart. 

February 2017 Silver Lining Recipient 

Angela B is the Angela Andrade Foundation Silver Lining Recipients for February 2017. AAF will be assisting Angela B and her family with financial assistance and for her 40th birthday celebration. 


December 2016 Silver Lining Recipient 

Fatima B is the Angela Andrade Foundation Silver Lining Recipients for December 2016. AAF will be assisting Fatima B and her family with a family trip to Florida for their next holiday of July 4. Fatima passed away December 2016.

November 2016 Silver Lining Recipient 

Angela C is the Angela Andrade Foundation Silver Lining Recipients for November 2016. AAF will be assisting Angela C and her family with financial assistance. 

September 2016 Silver Lining Recipient 

Gladys R  is the Angela Andrade Foundation Silver Lining Recipients for September 2016. AAF will be assisting Gladys R and her family with a family trip and financial assistance. Gladys R is a mother of 3 boys diagnosed in 2013 with metastatic breast cancer to brain and lungs.


August 2016 Silver Lining Recipient 

Christina D  is the Angela Andrade Foundation Silver Lining Recipients for August 2016. AAF will be assisting Christina D and her family including 2 children on a family summer road trip including a trip to where she went to graduate school.  Christina wrote " WOW I am speechless and so happy. This grant is unexpected and will definitely help support a family trip. Thank you so much for helping to support my family and allowing us to create memories together." 

July 2016 Silver Lining Recipient 

Lisa S  is the Angela Andrade Foundation Silver Lining Recipients for July 2016. AAF will be assisting Lisa with her rent and utilities and her family of 5 children ages 9-18 with her utility bills. Lisa wrote ".. I have worked my entire life until was deemed disabled as of September 2011. ... I will always be susceptible to a recurrence; be it 2 months, 2 years or longer. I can only take things one day at a time." 

June 2016 Silver Lining Recipient 

Mayra O  is the Angela Andrade Foundation Silver Lining Recipients for June 2016. AAF will be assisting Mayra and her family with a trip with her family.  Mayra wrote "By going away it would help to feel normal again where I can picture my feet in the sand, the sun in my eyes and the wind in my back and be around the people I love." 


May 2016 Silver Lining Recipient 

Kathleen E  is one of the Angela Andrade Foundation Silver Lining Recipients for May 2016. AAF will be assisting Kathleen and her family of 5 children ages 9-18 with her utility bills. Kathleen wrote ".. by alleviating the stress I carried from that bill I honestly believe that you helped prolong my life. My children and I cannot thank you enough." 

April 2016 Silver Lining Recipient - Sam C

Sam C is the Angela Andrade Foundation Silver Lining Recipient for April 2016. Sam will be traveling with her family to Key West on the Little Pink Houses of Hope. Sam wrote "the opportunity to make memories for my husband and son is now one of the most important items in my life. We are looking forward to a week away! And we are are also looking forward to a break from the worry in my stage IV diagnosis."




March 2016 Silver Lining Recipient - Sheila J

Sheila J is the Angela Andrade Fundation Silver Lining Recipient for March 2016. Sheila will be going to India with the Fresh Chapter India Odyssey 2016 (see picture below of her current trip).  Sheila wrote "my message of hope is LIVE and not let cancer destroy happiness. No matter how cancer tries to dictate your life remember each day belongs to you."







We have approved nineteen grants with the average grant size of approximately $1,800. Grants have provided financial relief in the form of vacations, pre-school payment, rent, and debt payments.

Lisa, Age 48, Texas - "Being together as a family and doing things like traveling, exploring new things with them is a blessing. My children were 6 and 2 when I was diagnosed." Angela Andrade Foundation provided assistance with a family vacation on a cruise.

Natalie, Age 34, Texas - "My diagnosis has brought a sense of closeness to my family as well. My daughter is an only child and has been begging me to go to school like her older cousins. Unfortunately with all my medical bills and our household bills we cannot afford preschool." Angela Andrade Foundation provided assistance with paying pre-school for her daughter.




Arnita, Age 52, Texas - "My cancer has been tough and many days I have had to face this battle alone. However, during my treatments I have met wonderful people who have been supportive to me when I needed it most. It is comforting to know such help exists for people. Thank you !!! Thank you!!! I cannot fully express my gratitude for the assistance I will be receiving." Angela Andrade Foundation provided assistance with her debt.

Kim, Age 41, Texas - "Life goes on no matter what keep living as if it is your last day. Don't give cancer a home in your life!! Be you." Angela Andrade Foundation provided assistance with her rent.

Launa, Age 40, Pennsylvania - "I am a single mom of a 9 year old. I struggle financially on disability. Beating this cancer and raising my daughter into her 30's or 40's is my goal." Angela Andrade Foundation provided assistance with her debt.

A Fresh Chapter Cape Town Experience - Metastatic Breast Cancer Scholarship- The Angela Andrade Foundation is pleased to partner with A Fresh Chapter in sponsoring a metastatic breast cancer applicant to experience a once-in-a lifetime trip with A Fresh Chapter. A Fresh Chapter (Alliance Foundation) has a mission of healing the emotional scars of cancer through volunteering, meaningful travel, and activities designed to reframe adversity and redefine what's possible. After three successful programs in New Delhi, India, A Fresh Chapter is launching a program in Cape Town, South Africa where U.S. patients will have the opportunity to expand their stories beyond cancer while contributing to meaningful volunteer projects on the other side of the world.
